Australia’s New Culinary Festival A Success!

The inaugural The Curated Plate, Australia’s most exciting new food festival on the Sunshine Coast, delighted all who attended the festival from 5-18 August, 2019.

The debut program welcomed international guest chefs Raymond Blanc OBE (UK), Zaiyu Hasegawa (Japan), Monique Fiso (New Zealand) alongside Australian-based talent Peter Gilmore, Analiese Gregory, Clayton Wells, Matt Stone, Chase Kojima, Darren Robertson, Alanna Sapwell, Nelly Robinson, Troy Rhoades-Brown plus several more talented local chefs, foragers and producers.

Built exclusively for The Curated Plate, a custom-built coastal chic Restaurant on Mooloolaba Beach hosted a range of fine dining and fun dining experiences from 8-11 August. Events included Good Food presents Seasonal StarsGood Food presents Wild Forage DiningA Regional Evolution  and Urban List presents The Elements Long Lunch.

The Culinary Collective series of events were held in popular Sunshine Coast restaurants, bars and breweries, seeing local chefs collaborate with feature chefs from The Curated Plate’s festival program, creating one-off menus and unique experiences for diners.

The Food Fair at Cotton Tree Park, Maroochydore provided a relaxed family (and dog!) friendly event for festival-goers. The three day Food Fair featured hands on masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and talks from interstate and local guest chefs, a range of bars and eateries for guests to feast upon, entertainment by local musicians and exhibitors showcasing the world-class produce that hails from the Sunshine Coast.

Rounding out the The Curated Plate’s diverse offerings was The Destination Series, an impressive line-up of activity-led local experiences, specially curated and hosted by Sunshine Coast businesses.
