This is the escape you’ve been looking for. Recharge and refuel at the contemporary The Tamarind restaurant at Spicers Tamarind Retreat, a luxury resort tucked among the tranquil rainforests of Maleny. A tropical feast that honours this stunning natural environment awaits, masterfully cooked by Michelin-starred chef Shane Osborn, revered Brisbane-based chef Louis Tikaram and The Tamarind’s own hatted chef Daniel Jarrett. The night of inspired eating will begin with a range of welcome canapés, before embarking on a journey through the Sunshine Coast’s freshest artisanal produce through four elegant courses, plus curated wines and beers.
Each chef will bring their own special flair to the table. Osborn, who was the first Australian chef to win one and two Michelin stars for his London restaurant Pied-à-Terre, takes pride in sticking to a fundamentally locavore philosophy. Tikaram, a former Good Food Guide Young Chef of the Year winner, will pack his Cantonese inspiration from his newest venture, the two-level elegant Stanley restaurant. While Jarrett, awarded a hat in the 2020 Good Food Guide for his inventive and considered menu, will impart his 18 years of experience creating modern Asian dishes with a Sunshine Coast twist.
This special evening will be hosted by Callan Boys, national food and drink writer for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, and senior restaurant reviewer for the Good Food Guide. Sitting right on the doorstep of a jungle-cloaked paradise, you won’t want to leave.
